This spec project explores a two-phase mixed reality beauty campaign combining live footage with CGI and FOOH elements to build anticipation and sustain engagement across the full launch arc — from first glimpse to product reveal.

Two-Phase CGI Mixed Reality Campaign for Beauty Product Launch

THE CONCEPT
The campaign is built around curiosity-driven storytelling using CGI mixed reality and FOOH visual language. Rather than leading with the product, the strategy uses controlled visibility to build emotional intrigue before the reveal. Phase 1 — Teasing The product is never fully shown. CGI elements, mirror-inspired reflections, and subtle visual clues are embedded into real-world footage — creating anticipation without disclosure. The product identity remains partially hidden, encouraging audience speculation and organic engagement in the target geography. Phase 2 — Soft Launch The product is revealed elegantly: a lipstick CGI element appears integrated into architectural space, seamlessly blending the physical environment with the CGI advertising layer. The soft launch film was released after the hero video, acting as a continuation of the campaign narrative and reinforcing product visibility at the moment of full reveal.

Why it worked

Staged communication and controlled product visibility created sustained anticipation within a defined geography. By withholding the product in the teasing phase, the campaign generated emotional engagement before full exposure — making the soft launch feel like a reward rather than a standard announcement.

When to use CGI like this

CGI mixed reality FOOH campaigns are highly effective for beauty brands launching into a new market or specific geography. The phased approach — teaser followed by soft launch — is particularly strong when the goal is to build brand awareness before full product reveal and maintain audience engagement across multiple content moments. This strategy works especially well for luxury CGI advertising and viral beauty campaigns where the product itself carries strong visual appeal and benefits from a cinematic, staged introduction.

ABOUT US

HAUT CGI is a global CGI studio. We produce CGI and FOOH content for product launches and marketing campaigns worldwide. We believe video with a story behind performs differently.
Our A-R-P framework — Attention → Retention → Performance — means every asset is built to do three things: stop the scroll, hold the viewer, and land the brand message. Beautiful is the baseline. Story and performance are the goal.
