For the launch of the Beauty Works x Huda Beauty Barely There Bangs, we created a CGI mixed reality video set against the real facade of Selfridges, London — bringing the product to life through an instant on-screen transformation designed for social sharing and viral beauty FOOH advertising.

THE CONCEPT
Using real footage of Selfridges as the backdrop, we seamlessly integrated a model into the scene and created the Barely There Bangs entirely in CGI. Through a precisely timed CGI mechanism, the fringe appears instantly — a clean, believable before-and-after transformation happening in a single uninterrupted shot. The bangs materialise as if placed by the city itself, turning a product demonstration into a visual event on one of London's most recognisable retail streets. The FOOH mixed reality format places the launch at flagship scale without requiring a physical installation, giving the campaign the presence of a major outdoor advertising moment at a fraction of the production cost. The result highlights the beauty of the new product and drives audiences to seek it out in London.

Why it worked

The before-and-after mechanic is one of beauty advertising's most effective storytelling formats — and executing it through CGI in a real London landmark made it instantly shareable. The product transformation feels both surprising and believable within the real environment, which is exactly the dynamic that drives engagement, saves, and shares in luxury FOOH beauty campaigns.
